Irvine Valley College (IVC) and the South Orange County Community
College District (SOCCCD) broke ground today on what will be a 3,800-square
foot, one-story building that will serve as a student Health and Wellness
Center as well as offer sports training and other athletics related services. The
project, located near the baseball fields on the south end of campus, is
expected to complete by fall 2019.
“This has been a long awaited and much needed project by our
campus,” said IVC President Glenn Roquemore. “I can’t wait until next year when
we reconvene to celebrate the grand opening of a vital new addition to the IVC
The Health and Wellness Center portion of the building will
include three private examination rooms, a waiting room, reception room, nurses
station, and staff offices. The athletics portion includes a trainer’s room,
ticket booth and concessions stand, public restrooms and new bleacher seating
for up to 300 spectators.
