Circle K International Club Takes Home Honors

The Irvine Valley College (IVC) Circle K International Club took home five awards, including the top award for Outstanding Total Achievement at the 65th Annual California-Nevada-Hawaii District Convention in Riverside, California March 22-24.

The regional convention welcomed over 700 Circle K members from colleges for educational workshops, leadership training, service projects, and a celebration of the past year’s accomplishments. The IVC Circle K International Club won numerous awards, including the top award for Outstanding Total Achievement.

IVC Circle K Clubs Awards:

  • Outstanding Total Achievement – 1st Place (Bronze Division) 
  • Distinguished Club 
  • Distinguished President – Alvin Nguyen 
  • Distinguished Membership Development and Education 
  • 100% Monthly Report Forms on time – Soren Kim

In addition to the club and member awards, several IVC students were awarded for their outstanding service to the community, through the Membership Recognition Program.

  • Gold (130 hours of service): Alvin Nguyen 
  • Silver (80 hours of service): April Simpson 
  • Bronze (50 hours of service): Soren Kim

Members of IVC’s Circle K International Club performed nearly 700 hours of community service over the past year. The Kiwanis Club of Irvine and ASIVC provided the support that allowed 12 student club members and one advisor to attend this year’s convention.

Circle K International is the collegiate service organization of Kiwanis International. It promotes service, leadership, and fellowship. The IVC chapter meets on Mondays at 4 pm in LSB 112.
